Jon sent in this photo today and what a photo! `Shoes` is a great carp angler, very talented in making the big carp fall to his rods, aswel as very talented with video editing and filming for fishing labels up and down the country. Jon`s also great at taking stills aswel, as this shot proves. many thanks Jon for sending the photo in. a lovely shot that generates so many feelings as you gaze at it. the one thing carp anglers have when on the banks is time and moments to think about the big scaleys swimming out in the depths in front of us, or thinking about family or friends past and present. Soaking in the nature and surroundings as the busy modern life still hurries all around us. We sit on the banks with a brew in hand. Jon's photo is part of all that, an introspective photo that gets you thinking and pondering....... Scott Edwards / ecu.

Hardened carp angler whose been there, done it, going way back is Bob Tapken, I knew of Bob from his days with nutrabaits in the 80s and his writings on the famous nutrafruit range nutrabaits released at the time. when Bob approached me last year about getting on the mk1 compacts we hit it off straight away, and he's been on them since. Lads tell me about Bob being out there doing it in all weathers, and he's relentless at targeting big carp in any season. Here's what Bob had to say about his latest result.... ``......... Hi Scott, Doesn't the adrenalin start to flow when you get a one noter in the middle of the night and after the fight you net the fish and see in the bottom of the net a 40lb+ mirror when weighed it went 40lb 14oz . It only went better still when I was packing down the bivvy to go home when another one noter kicked off, this time it was another mirror weighing 37lb 7oz. Earlier in the session I had a mirror of 11lb 6oz and had a hook pull out on another, A session to be remembered. I have now had your alarms for nearly a year and have used them in all conditions, they tick all the boxes and have never let me down, I am really pleased with them and they have caused quite a bit of a stir with people asking to demonstrate them and I think it has made for a few anglers getting in touch with you or the nearest shop that sells them. Thanks again Scott . All the best, Bob ........ `` Cherry on the cake for Bob.... 37lb 7oz. Job Done! what a brace of carp to land in one session!
